Termite Management
Termites or ‘white ants' are destructive pests that can pose significant danger to the integrity of your property. 1 in 3 properties in Australia have termites living in fences, homes, retaining walls and other timber structures.
Termites have mandibles that they use to feed on the cellulose in timber. They are attracted to all timbers, but especially pine timber. Termites thrive in warm, humid weather making Queensland the ideal living environment.
A termite invasion can sometimes be hard to notice as they only need 1mm of space to enter properties. Commonly, termites have already done substantial amounts of damage before warning signs become visible.

TYPES OF TERMITES
Subterranean Termites or ‘White-Ants’
Subterranean Termites are ground dwelling pests that require constant contact with soil and moisture. They live off of dead and living wood, meaning that they can cause substantial structural damage to homes and buildings.
Drywood Termites
Drywood Termites do not require contact to soil or the ground and only live off moisture found in timber. These types of termites gain access to structures via flight or by being introduced through infested items. Drywood Termites are commonly found in furniture, picture frames and ornaments.
Dampwood Termites
Dampwood Termites live off of damp, rotting wood, and are commonly found in rotting logs or dead trees. In comparison to Drywood Termites, Dampwood Termites do not cause as much damage to man-made structures, however they can weaken structures and cause extensive damage over a long period of time.
